Mary Beth & Robert Married!

Congratulations to Mary Beth & Robert!

Mary Beth & Robert’s wedding was like coming full circle for me…last January I asked her mom Laurie if I could take pictures of cupcakes at her shop Pearl’s. Somewhere in that first meeting I confessed to being just a little lousy with Facebook and so she put me in touch with her daughter Mary Beth, who does social media work out in LA.  Shortly after that I found out that we were expecting Roman and just as had happened with Gina, it quickly became impossible to use the computer, phones or camera – basically, I have a severe distaste for all things technology during the early months. Now I REALLY needed help more than ever!  Well, Mary Beth was a Godsend for me – she kept my page up and running even with my finger always hovering above the delete key and then before I knew it I was through the worst.  By August, Laurie and I met up again in the Richmond Bridal Show and I learned Mary Beth was now engaged.  And she also brought over a bunch of mini cupcakes from her booth so it was a win, win all around!

This past weekend Mary Beth and Robert were married and I was finally able to do something for her!  They are quite the characters and it showed all throughout their wedding day.  The ceremony did not begin the traditional way.  To everyone’s enjoyment and surprise the processional included a video montage of different matrimonial scenes taken from Hollywood.  And it didn’t end there.  Mary Beth then walked down the aisle to music from Star Wars!

Still the most hilarious part of the intro had to be the two flower girls. My only previous experience was with my daughter as a flower girl when she charged down that aisle like there was a triple scoop chocolate ice cream at the end.  We were ready for something FAST!  Now the Virginia Ballroom at the John Marshall is a pretty good size end to end anyway but these two girls really milked that walk to the Last.Drop!  They took breaks, lingered and giggled to each other…started back up again…stopped to drop a massive handful of petals…giggle for a bit…and it just goes on – so, so adorable!!  I’m going to let the images tell the rest of the story but I can’t say enough how excited we are for these two and their families and how thankful I am for how that chance meeting one day over cupcakes has developed since.  Hope you enjoy the highlights!

Mary Beth and Robert opted for a First Look together and you’ll see in the ceremony pictures below that having this First Look didn’t take anything away from Robert seeing her for the first time as the woman walking towards him down the aisle, about to be his wife! So special his reaction! For now though, they were able to have a few quiet moments to themselves and then the whole wedding party jumped in behind!
